Knob Noster R-VIII School District
The Knob Noster R-VIII School District
has four educational centers that serve more than 1,800 students. The district holds a AAA rating -- the highest available, yet it has the lowest tax rate for a school with that rating.
Whiteman Elementary School, which is part of the Knob Noster R-VIII School District, is on base for children in kindergarten through fourth grade.
Knob Noster Elementary School serves children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Knob Noster Middle School serves grades six to eight. Knob Noster High School offers vocational and advanced education credits for students in grades nine to 12.
The school system also offers classes for children with special needs, including those at an advanced learning level.

Warrensburg School District
The Warrensburg School District
is a AAA-rated school system serving more than 2,100 students. The system includes a high school, one middle school, three elementary schools, the Warrensburg Kindergarten Center and the Warrensburg Vocational-Technical School, which offers training to youths and adults.

Sedalia School District 200
Sedalia School District 200 is a AAA-rated school system. The public school system includes five elementary schools, a middle school and a high school.
There are also several parochial schools in Sedalia which serve children from preschool age through high school.

Whiteman Air Force Base Education Office

The Base Training and Education Services Center located within The Whiteman Professional Developoment Center offers many education opportunities including associate, bachelor and master degree programs.

The guidance counselors and educational specialists are available Mondays-Thursdays 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., to assist military personnel, family members and DOD civilian employees in meeting their Professional Military Education (PME), vocational and educational goals. Counseling services are available by appointment (687-5750).

Local Colleges/Universities

WARRENSBURG VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL (WVTS): WVTS is located in Warrensburg, 9 miles from WAFB. It offers a wide variety of adult evening classes. Classes such as auto maintenance, welding, computer programming, bookkeeping, shorthand and others are available. The WVTS phone number is a (660) 747-­2283.

STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE: SFCC main campus is located in Sedalia, 20 miles from WAFB. SFCC offers certificate programs and associate degree programs. Both day and evening courses are available. The programs at SFCC are varied enough to allow students many different fields to plan a program that will transfer with little or no loss of credit. NON­TRADITIONAL EDUCATION: A variety of degrees and college courses are available through External Degree programs, correspondence courses, video college classes, satellite courses, etc. If you are interested in a class or a degree program not offered on base, the BTES counselors can help you design an individual program to meet your needs.

SFCC at Whiteman offers a general education curriculum to complete an associates degree program as well as the first 2 years of higher education if you plan to transfer to a 4­-year school. By receiving the associate of arts degree from SFCC, you will have met many lower division general education requirements for colleges and universities in Missouri that have accepted the guidelines of the coordinating Board of Higher Education. State Fair Community College academic transfer programs offer pre­professional study in: Agriculture, Art, Business, Accounting, Administration, Computer, Economics, Chemistry, Criminal Justice, Dentistry, Earth Science, Engineering English/Literature, Forestry, General Studies, Journalism, Law, Liberal Arts, Mass Communication, Mathematics, Medicine, Music, Nursing, Organizational Communications, Pharmacy, Physical Education & Recreation, Physics, Psychology, Social Science, Social Work, Speech & Theater, Teaching, Theology, and Conservation. Credits earned at State Fair Community College are accepted at most state colleges, universities, and most private institutions. State Fair can help you define your goals and determine the best opportunities for you. SFCC offers many courses in general studies, management, and job-related areas that are required for the Community College of the Air Force degree program. Park University is a private school based in Parkville, MO (north of Kansas City) and is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Park University at Whiteman AFB offers five bachelor of science degree programs including: Management, Management/Accounting, Management/Computer Information Systems, Social Psychology, and Management/Human Resources. Since Park University operates extension sites at over 37 bases, they are very familiar with military students' special needs. Evening classes, the acceptance of 84 transfer hours from 2­-year schools, 8-week terms and individualized instruction for near­-graduates are among the many services Park University provides to help students complete their degrees. Some of the courses at Park transfer to CCAF. Park also has several degree completions offered on-line. Webster University offers three Master of Arts (MA) degrees and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree on WAFB. Also offered is an MA degree in Management or Human Resources Development. Both MA programs require 36 semester hours to complete the degree with 21 of those hours in the discipline of study. The MBA is designed for students who want a quantitative orientation in their graduate program. The degree requires 21 semester hours in the MBA curriculum, an area of emphasis, and MA electives for a total of 48 semester hours. Classes are taught on a five term per year basis with classes meeting once per week for a 4-hour period nine times per term. Each class is taught in the Education Center with instructors from Kansas City and the local area. The site Director and Academic Advisor are available to help prospective students with such things as career ideas, scheduling, financial need, and school information.
